- Oil-modified and acid-cure finishes emit very high VOC’s and harmful fumes causing the homeowner, pets, and plants to vacate the home for 2-3 days.
- Both contain petroleum distillates which are combustible or flammable
- Dry and cure times are two to three times longer than waterborne finishes

It has been a misconception that water-based finishes are not as durable as oil-modified finishes. In Taber test results, it is proven that waterborne finishes withstand the wear and tear of commercial and residential floors better than oil-modified finishes.
